This benefit offering is in addition to the basic Group Life benefit included with your medical care option under the Trust. Life Insurance helps protect a family's quality of life. It can pay off a home mortgage, pay off any outstanding loans or credit card debt, it can fund a child's education. It also can provide relief during your final months of life.
An Accelerated Benefit provision is included which will enable you to receive up to 50% of your life
insurance benefit before death if you are diagnosed as terminally ill. If the Accidental Death &
Dismemberment Benefit is chosen and death occurs due to an accidental injury, the AD&D
maximum amount will be paid to the named beneficiary in addition to the life insurance amount. If
a dismemberment or loss of eyesight occurs due to an accidental injury, a specific amount,
related to the AD&D amount will be paid to the insured.
Presently, simplified medical underwriting is required; uninsurable medical conditions will be declined coverage. Individual plans with higher face amounts are also available.
US Life, a member of the American General Assurance Company, underwrites this voluntary group plan. Both companies are AM Best rated A+.
